Introduction to photoshop.

I have used Photoshop before but not for tasks such as this and i hadn't learnt to use it properly, so this expanded my knowledge on Photoshop and made me much more familiar with the basic techniques i will need to use.

Firstly I had to find and save four photographs of an astronaut, a bear, the Eiffel Tower and some Sand Dunes. Then I created my file, I did this so it was 800x1000 pixels document and it was a width 72 dot per inch, this was so it would fit easily onto our computer by not using many megabytes.

To add an image to another layer I clicked on file, then open and opened the image I wanted. I the dragged the image onto the background layer. The first layer I created was the sand dunes.

To  make the sand dunes the correct size I had to scale them, I did this by clicking on edit, then transform, then scale. To keep it to the correct proportions i had to press shift while I made them the correct size.

After I had made them the correct size i had to make a new layer with the Eiffel tower by dragging the photograph onto the file again. I then cut it out using the polygonal lasso tool. I had to use the polygonal lasso tool to trace around the image, once I had done this I had to go to select and invert then delete to get rid of the background. I then scaled the image and placed it at the top of the sand dunes. I had to repeat this process for the astronaut.

Finally I had to cut out the bear. I used the same tool to cut it out however I had to increase the amount of pixels to 1 or 2 pixels on the feather section so it would still look like it had fur and not look like a hard line.
